At ERN, we staunchly believe every child is entitled to a high-quality public education. We seek to create progressive education policies at both the federal and state levels that will guarantee a quality public education to all students, especially those previously denied that right. We advocate for policies that will empower all students—particularly students of color, students from low-income backgrounds and other historically underserved students—to reach their limitless potential. For instance, as part of the COVID-19 relief and recovery efforts, ERN worked to persuade Congress to statutorily require states to set aside at least $28 billion (of the $122 billion in total education recovery aid) for “evidence-based” interventions to address learning loss. This includes high-impact tutoring programs, which we have helped implement in three of our chapter states to serve 1 million students.
